Privacy & Cookie Policy
At Cosby Art Glass, accessible from https://www.cosbyartglass.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This policy explains what information this website collects, what it stores in your browser, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at the address at the end of this page.
This policy applies only to our online activities and to information shared through this website. It does not cover information collected offline, by phone, by email, or in our shop.
Cookies and your choices
This site does not set any cookies on its own. Two optional things from Google can set cookies, and both are off until you turn them on in the banner shown on your first visit, or with the controls below. If you decline, nothing from Google is loaded and no cookies are set at all.
- Strictly necessary (always on)
- A single record of the choices you make here, kept in this browser so we do not ask on every page. It never leaves your device and is not used to identify you.
- Analytics (optional, off by default)
- Google Analytics, so we can see which pages people read and where visitors come from. Off until you turn it on. The site works exactly the same either way.
- Map embed (optional, off by default)
- The interactive Google Map on our Contact page. Google sets its own cookies when the map loads, so it stays off until you turn it on. Our address, phone and a directions link work without it.
Your choice is saved as a single entry in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) under the name cosbyartglass-consent, together with the date you made it. It stays on your device, is never sent to us, and expires after 365 days, after which we ask again. We also ask again if we change what the site uses. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time here or through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
If you turn analytics on, Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with _ga to recognise your browser across visits, and sends page views, approximate location and device information to Google. We have IP anonymisation turned on. Turning analytics off again stops further collection and deletes those cookies from this site. Google's own handling of the data is described in its privacy policy. The Google Map on our Contact page is loaded from Google and sets Google's cookies when shown; we cannot delete those for you, but they are not set unless you show the map.
Information we collect
This website has no forms and no accounts. If you contact us directly by phone or email, we receive what you choose to send us, such as your name, phone number, email address, photos of your window or glass, and the contents of your message. We use it only to answer you and to carry out the work you ask for.
How we use information
- Respond to your enquiries and provide quotes and services
- Operate and maintain this website
- If you allow analytics, understand which pages are read so we can improve the site
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and reliability. These record the IP address, browser type, date and time, and pages requested. They are not combined with any information that identifies you personally and are retained only briefly.
Third parties
The only third-party services this site can load are Google Analytics and Google Maps, each only with your permission as described above. Links to other sites, such as our Facebook page, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, or to receive a copy of it. Because this site stores nothing about you on our side, most of these requests will concern email or phone correspondence. Contact us and we will respond within one month.
Children's information
Cosby Art Glass does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided such information to us, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
